Abstract / Text
Mirrored Dwellers, a collaborative, interdisciplinary project by Artificial Intelligems, explores performance and spectatorship in Extended Reality (XR) through experimenting with phygital embodiment and music composition. This article, published by Collateral Journal as part of a series on conditions of spectatorship in an art context, discusses the Mirrored Dwellers project and positions XR performance as a speculative practice for imagining plural modes of being together. It explores the potential of XR technologies to encourage more-than-human perspectives through topics including artistic translation, nonhuman agency, and designing-with.
